Dining in St Andrews

Probably the most asked question from our guests (outside of golf) is where we would recommend to eat! St Andrews has a variety of restaurants, whether you are are looking for a five star dining experience, an informal setting, burgers, steak or fish and chips! As a university town we have something for everyone and the standard is excellent.

 

 

THE ADAMSON RESTAURANT AND BAR

Located on South Street, the Adamson offers contemporary dining and an excellent cocktail bar.

Located on Strathtyrum Farm, the Balgove Larder is a farm shop with local produce and meat as well as a cafe. The Balgove Steak Barn is located next door with cooked to order steaks, burgers and sausages on a wood-fired BBQ.

Located on Market Street, the Central is a favourite local pub with cold beer, hot steak pies and a warm welcome.

Located on Church Square, The Doll’s House has a range of offers from Sunday roast to weekend brunch.

Located on Pilmour Place, the Dunvegan is a local golfers’ pub. Great for watching sports and having a pint post round.

Located on Market Street, Forgan’s is known for its gin collection, brunch and ceilidh dancing on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Located on Golf Place opposite the Old Course, Hams Hame is a pub and grill offering local produce and a large wine selection.

Located at the Old Course Hotel, the Jigger Inn is a cosy pub with golfing memorabilia, fires and home-cooked food and range of beers.

Located on Logies Lane, this is a wonderful Italian gem offering pasta, pizza and an excellent wine list. It’s very popular so advance reservations are recommended!

Located on St Mary’s Place, Mammacita is home to Mexican street-food with a tequila bar.

Located at the top of Murray Park, The Restaurant offers a contemporary dining experience with a cocktail bar.

Located on The Scores at the end of Murray Park, the Russell offers a bar with traditional pub food as well as a fine dining experience.

Located on South Street, Rogue is a contemporary seafood and steak restaurant, cocktail bar and gin distillery.
Located on South Street, the Saint is a bar and restaurant offering local Scottish fare and cocktails. On a warm day you can enjoy drinks and dining in the garden.

Located next to the St Andrews Aquarium, the Seafood Ristorante sources local produce in a fine dining atmosphere overlooking the St Andrews Bay and West Sands Beach.

With two locations, one on North Street around the corner from Lorimer House and one on South Street. Both offer a selection of handcrafted beers and pub fare. Vouchers for a complimentary drink with a main meal are available for guests at Lorimer House.

Located in Strathkinness, the Tavern is a 5 minute drive or cab ride from Lorimer House. It’s a family owned pub with local produce and live music on the weekends.

Located on Market Street, Tailend is a seafood restaurant known for their famous fish and chips and offers take away or in-dining seating.

Located on South Street, the Vine Leaf is a family owned restaurant offering a varied menu and excellent wine list.

The Whey Pat located opposite the West Port is a popular locals’ pub and is at its peak around 5:00pm.

Located on Murray Place, Ziggy’s is a rock ‘n’ roll themed restaurant with weekly live music. Lorimer House guests can also receive a discount, just ask us about it!
